City returned to Premier League action in fine style by chalking up a hugely impressive 3-0 victory at Anfield.
On what was the first game back after the September and October international break, Enzo Maresca’s side made it six wins out of six in the league to move three points clear at the top of the table.
Amidst a feisty and frenzied atmosphere on Merseyside, City delivered a supremely professional and clinical display.
And after the hosts had been reduced to 10 men when Ryan Gravenberch was dismissed for a second yellow card just after the hour, City seized control.
Erling Haaland opened the scoring on 66 minutes with a sweetly struck shot before substitute Jérémy Doku doubled the advantage two minutes later in thrilling fashion.
And a fine afternoon’s work was then sealed 12 minutes from time when Rayan Cherki rounded off a quite majestic team goal to seal a second successive league win at Anfield.
